Autopay Questions

Can I pay my bill online?

Yes. You can view your balance, pay your bill, and set up automatic payments simply by logging into your Delta Disposal account. 

What is Autopay?

Autopay is a free service that allows you to set up automatic payment of your bill each time a new one is available. You can use a credit card or bank account, which means one less check to write each month. By default, your autopay will pay the full balance of your bill on the 15th of the month. 

How do I enroll in Autopay?

 To enroll in Autopay, login to your account and click Sign Up For Autopay. 

Note: When you set up autopay, the automatic payment will take effect with your NEXT invoice. You may need to make a manual payment for the amount due on your current invoice. 

How do I change or cancel Autopay?

To change your Autopay settings, login to your account and access Autopay. Click Edit/Cancel Autopay, scroll down and click Cancel Autopay. There can be up to a 7-day delay in cancelling. You will still be responsible for any outstanding balance.

How do I view my bill online?

 To view your payment status, login to your account and look for Balance or view Account History. 

What if I have questions about my bill or think there is an error?

For questions about your bill, please call us at (906) 786-2276 or (800) 921-0877, or login to your account and send us a message. 

How do I know when my payment is due?

Payments are due on the last day of the month. You may check your account Balance and Account History online. Simply login to your account to access your billing information. 

Are there any terms that apply to my service?

If you are a customer receiving service from Delta Disposal, your services are provided pursuant to the terms disclosed on the Residential Service Terms page. 

Making Payments

Can I pay multiple accounts?

Yes, you may pay and manage all of your Delta Disposal accounts online.

Can I make an online payment on a past due account?

Yes, you can make a payment on a past due account, including late fees that may have been incurred due to this status. Please contact us if you have additional questions on past due accounts or service reinstatement. 

To make payment online, login to your account. 

Will I be charged a fee for paying my bill online?

Paying your bill online is a free service. However, you will need to check with your own financial institution to make sure you will not be charged a fee. 

How do you use my billing information?

Information is used only for internal purposes and will not be shared. Read about our company privacy policies. 

Can refunds be initiated online?

Refunds cannot be initiated through our online system. To request a refund, please call us at (906) 786-2276 or (800) 921-0877. 

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted payment methods are Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover, or a bank account, checking or savings, with a valid routing number. 

How do I add a new method of payment to my account?

To change your payment method, login to your account, click Make Payment, and change payment method. You can also sign up for Autopay. 

If I have my checking account at a credit union, will I still be able to pay online?

Yes, however, many credit unions do not have an official ABA Routing Number on their check. If this is the case, please contact your credit union to obtain a valid 9-digit routing number. You will need to provide this routing number on the Payment Method section under Make Payment. 

When is my payment processed?

Payments made online are processed on the day they are received if received before 2 pm (ET) and posted to your Delta Disposal account. If a payment is received on a non-business day, it will be processed the next business day. Notification of payment will be emailed or texted to your mobile phone. 

What if there is a problem processing my payment?

If your payment was made online, we will contact you via email or text message if your financial institution rejects your payment. You will either need to re-enter your payment using an alternate payment method, mail your payment to Delta Disposal P.O. Box 886, Escanaba, MI 49829, pay in person at 1500 3rd Avenue N, Escanaba, MI 49829, or contact us to make payment arrangements. For payments made by mail, you will need to refer to your bank statement for verification that your financial institution processed your payment. If your payment transaction does not appear within five business days, please contact us by calling (906) 786-2276 or (800) 921-0877. 

When will I incur late payment charges?

If applicable, late fees may be charged if an unpaid balance remains on your account for 30 days after the due date. 

How can I check my payment status?

To view the processed payments against your account, login to your account and view Account History. 

If I enroll in paperless billing, will I stop receiving my bill in the mail?

You will no longer receive a bill in the mail once you enroll in paperless billing. 

I’m having trouble logging into my online account.

If you’ve forgotten your Customer ID, select the Forgot Your Customer ID link on the login page. 

Is my bill payment and personal information secure?

We take the security of your payment information very seriously. We are using industry standard, state-of-the-art technologies to make sure that your payment information is secure. All information that goes to or from your computer will be stored by us in a manner consistent with the rules of NACHA, the rules of the applicable credit card Trash Billing Agreement Terms, the RPPS agency, federal or state law (including applicable rules and regulations), or other applicable governing text. 

I don’t see my online payment reflected in my recent account activity.

Payment may take up to 48 hours to display in your recent account activity. 

Will I get a receipt or confirmation email?

If you have provided us with your email address or mobile phone number, you will receive a payment confirmation with each payment made online. 

Online Bill Pay

What are the system requirements?

In order to use online bill payment, you must be using the latest browser software (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, etc.).

What is a Delta Disposal online account?

Online account management allows you to view your Delta Disposal balance, manage your online payment details, and sign up for our automatic payment service and paperless billing. 

Am I eligible to use a Delta Disposal online account?

Current Delta Disposal customers are eligible to manage their account online. All you need is your Customer ID and a valid email address. 

How do I find out what I owe on my account?

Your current account balance will be reflected on your account. 

You can view your current account balance and other account details online by logging into your account.

Will my service be delayed by the holidays?

Collection service may be delayed due to these holidays: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. As a general rule, holidays push our pickup schedules back one day with regular schedules resuming the following week. There is no change to the pickup schedule if the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday.

Can I put my trash collection on hold while on vacation?

What do I need to start service or get a price quote?

How do I request a new trash container or replace a container?

Will my service be delayed by the weather?

When uncontrollable events like weather-related issues occur, we work hard to let you know how they may affect your service. Please check our Service Alerts page for the latest information, and follow us on Facebook. 

Where should I place my cart?

Face carts toward the street the night before or by 7am on your scheduled service day. Allow at least 2 feet between carts and 4 feet between carts and other objects. Make sure lids are securely shut. Materials should not extend beyond the container rim. 

Do you provide bulk pickup?

Yes. Give us a call at (906) 786-2276 or (800) 921-0877 to make arrangements for bulk pickup. 

Is there yard waste service in the area?

Delta County has a yard waste drop-off that’s open 24/7. Visit Delta Solid Waste Management Authority to learn more about the program. 

Where is the closest landfill?

The Delta County Landfill serves Delta County and the surrounding area. Visit the Delta Solid Waste Management Authority to learn more.

What can I recycle?

Commonly accepted recyclables include cardboard, mixed paper, plastic containers, and metal containers.

Do you recycle plastic bags?

We do not accept plastic bags for recycling at this time. Many large retailers such as Walmart and Meier offer plastic bag recycling and have collection bins at the front of their stores.

Do you recycle polystyrene foam plastic?

Polystyrene foam plastic (like foam packing peanuts) is not recyclable, so we are not able to accept it for recycling at this time. Before discarding foam packing peanuts, consider taking them to your local mail and packaging store for reuse, typically without charge. 

Do you recycle motor oil?

Used motor oil and anti-freeze can be dropped off at the Delta County Landfill. Visit Delta Solid Waste Management Authority to learn more. 

Do you recycle electronics?

Electronic materials should not be recycled with your everyday recyclables and should be handled separately. The Delta County Landfill offers convenient and safe Electronics Recycling solutions. Visit Delta Solid Waste Management Authority to learn more. 

Do you pick up furniture for recycling or reuse?

Items that are too large to fit in your trash cart are considered Bulk Waste. We will come to your home and remove bulk items such as furniture or appliances and recycle or dispose of materials properly. Some items such as home furnishings, mattresses, carpet, and appliances may require a dumpster rental.
